Music World Loses Goth Legend Peter Steele

On Thursday the 15th of April, the Gothic metal music industry were shocked with the sad news of Peter Steele's passing late Wednesday night. The cause of death has still not been confirmed, but all signs point to a possible heart failure. The 48 year old composer, lead singer and bassist of popular Gothic Rock/Metal band, Type O Negative, left behind a musical legacy that any musician would be proud of. Type O Negative found their place in the music industry in the heavy metal, rock and Gothic metal genres throughout the 90's and became widely popular around the world. His contributions to the band and Gothic metal will never be forgotten and will live on through his music.

T in the Park 2010

The T In The Park 2010 will be hosted in Balado, Kinross-Shire, Scotland, from the 9th to the 11th of July 2010. With a number of platinum and multi-platinum albums, the group has cemented their presence in the music industry and boasts spectacular releases including the albums Cypress Hill, Stoned Raiders, Black Sunday, Skull & Bones and Rise Up. The group is made up of DJ Muggs, B-Real, Sen Dog and Eric Bobo, and has just recently confirmed concert dates in Europe and North America.

There are still hundreds of record stores across America that are not owned or controlled by corporations. These unique stores are privately owned and make the experience of shopping for music a little more personal. Not much attention is brought to the privately owned record stores, which led to the creation of Record Store Day in 2007. It is now celebrated annually, and record stores join forces with artists and bands to promote music, fun and entertainment. This year, Record Store Day will take place on 17 April 2010, and hundreds of stores have already confirmed their participation.
