CMJ Music Marathon

In previous years, bands and artists such as Enimen, White Stripes, U2, Nirvana and Jet have all made their appearances at the annual CMJ Music Marathon, which is a music festival like no other. It was introduced in the year 1980 and has grown in popularity and attendance with each passing year. It is hosted in New York City, and this year it will be held from the 19th to the 23rd of October 2010. The headquarters of the festival will be at the New York University, and music enthusiasts are in for a real music treat at the 2010 edition of the CMJ Music Marathon.

A number of noteworthy bands and artists will be performing this year, and audiences can look forward to performances by bands such as Aaron Zimmer, A Life Once Lost, Helmet, Boot Camp Clik, Hollis Brown, Liptease, Nina Vidal, Stalkers, Whaletooth, Richard Barone, Weekends, No Surrender, Rival Sons, Living Days, Revolver, Lindsay Mac, White, The Lives of Famous Men, Little Racer, Dear Comrade, Taxis, Holy Boys and Nit Club, to name but a few. Organizers have secured over 1200 live performances for the 2010 CMJ Music Marathon and have brought in the assistance of seventy-five venues throughout New York to host the performances. Venues such as the Webster Hall, The Rock Shop, Public Assembly, Canal Room, Pianos and Ella Lounge have all lent their support to the festival. If music lovers plan their five day festival well, they will be able to attend almost every performance and enjoy hours of music and entertainment.

The CMJ Music Marathon does not only consist of live performances, but will also be hosting seminars, fascinating discussions and screenings. Some the past speakers at the festival have included Queen Latifah, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Iggy Pop and Rev. Jesse James, making the seminars interesting and educational for those interested in the music industry. The city will be alive with music and festivity throughout this period, and is an event that is attended by thousands of festival goers each year. Its success has been due to the festival's ability to cater for all genres and a variety of musical performances, and this year is gearing up to be even bigger than previous years.
