Cyndi Lauper to Tour the UK

After more than 20 years in the industry, enjoying success after success, Cyndi Lauper has just announced a decision to tour the United Kingdom. This rare tour has got fans talking excitedly in anticipation and will no doubt serve to boost sales of her latest collection “Bring Ya To The Brink” – not that she needs to boost her record sales. Cyndi Lauper has already enjoyed an excess of $25 million from her global record sales.

If you haven’t already recognized the name, you will most likely recognize famous songs such as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, “Time After Time”, “I Drove All Night” and “True Colors”. Cyndi was born Cynthia Ann Stephanie on 22 June 1953 in Brooklyn, New York. When she was five her parents divorced and she moved with her mother to Ozone Park – then a poor neighborhood in Queens. She showed a talent for music from a young age and her mother encouraged her to express her independence from others and her creativity. Her first album “She’s So Unusual” was released in the mid-eighties and it became an instant hit. Lauper became the first artist to ever have four top-five singles come off of one album. Over the years Cyndi Lauper has released 11 albums and more than 40 singles. She has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, 7 American Video Awards, 2 Emmy Awards, 2 American Music Awards and 18 MTV awards. She is not only a successful singer and songwriter, but she is also an award-winning film, television and theater actress. Above all these accomplishments she still continues to tour the world as part of efforts to support and promote human rights.

Cyndi has continued her ability to be innovative, exciting and beguiling with her newest music collection, “Bring Ya To The Brink”. Her new release has raised the creative bar and is sure to be another massive success in a long career of successes. Commenting on the new release, Cyndi said that she still had “so much to say and share.” She said that she would continue to sing her heart out wherever she had fans that wanted to hear her. And it would seem that she is certainly sticking to that promise with the announcement of her new tour. Her UK tour will take the form of four fantastic live performances to be held between 10 and 14 October later this year. The venues booked for the event are: Manchester Bridgewater Hall, Southampton Guildhall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and London Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The tickets will cost in the region of £35 and have been on sale since Friday, June 13.
