The Ting Tings Get Ready To Tour UK
Anyone up for a little indie-pop? Perhaps you’re more in the mood for some dance or punk? Well, if that sounds like you then get ready to enjoy the next whirlwind music group to make it big in the UK – The Ting Tings.
The dynamic duo known as The Ting Tings are all those things, though their sound is primarily classified as indie-pop. The Ting Tings has two members: Jules De Martino, who does vocals, guitar and drums, and Katie White, who plays bass drum, guitar and also does vocals. The pair got together and decided to form a band in 2006 when they were at Castle Irwell in Salford – although both of them are originally from Leigh. Since then they’ve been hard at work creating memorable music and promoting their band. One of the three singles that have been released on their current label Columbia Records has hit the big time. ‘That’s Not My Name’ charted went straight to Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart and the group has never looked back since. In fact, their album ‘We Started Nothing’ also charted at Number 1 in the UK just one day after their successful single earlier this year.
So it comes as no surprise then that the group are now heading off on their first big UK tour. Since the release of their Number 1 debut album they have visited America, Europe and Japan, so it is high time that they headed back home and gave fans the treat of a lifetime. Their next single ‘Shut Up And Let Me Go’ is due to be released later this year on July 21, while they will spend the rest of the summer appearing in a number of summer festivals. September 20 will see them head off on their biggest UK headline tour ever and they will make their way around the country until their tour ends on October 9.
The Ting Tings will be playing at Liverpool Carling Academy, Newcastle Carling Academy, Nottingham Rock City, Southampton Guildhall, Sheffield Carling Academy, Norwich UEA, Lincoln Engine Shed, Leicester University, Manchester Academy, Birmingham Carling Academy, Cardiff University Great Hall, Bristol Carling Academy, London Shepherds Bush Empire and London Forum consecutively. If you’re a fan, make sure that you don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
