Winners at the 2010 VMA Awards

Numerous noteworthy contenders were listed as nominees in various categories for the 2010 MTV VMA Awards. The Video Music Awards ceremony was held at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, on 12 September 2010, and had a few surprises in store. Not only did the host of the evening, Chelsea Handler, have a few tricks up her sleeve for the evening, but Eminem and Rihanna did a duet of Love the Way You Lie. Lighting and magnificent stage set-ups saw to it that the entire show was vibrant, colorful and entertaining.

Lady Gaga ended up being one of the most nominated artists in the history of the VMA Awards, and proudly walked off with a few of the 2010 MTV VMA Awards trophies. The VMA Awards, which were established in 1984, also gave trophies to well known artists such as Justin Bieber and Eminem. The complete list of winning artists is as follows:

Best Male Video – Eminem (Not Afraid)
Best Female Video – Lady Gaga (Bad Romance)
Video of the Year – Lady Gaga (Bad Romance)
Best Dance Video – Lady Gaga (Bad Romance)
Best Pop Video – Lady Gaga (Bad Romance)
Best New Artists – Justin Bieber (Featuring Ludacris – Baby)

After receiving eight Video Music Awards at the ceremony, Lady Gaga is viewed as the next Madonna of our generation and has most definitely cemented her career into the annals of history. Another memorable moment at the ceremony came in the form of a song, which was delivered by Taylor Swift. Everyone remembers how Kanye West stomped onto stage last year and declared that Swift should not have won, but the lyrics sung seem to show that she is ready to forgive and move on from that incident. The 2010 MTV VMA Awards were unpredictable, exciting and jam packed with entertainment.
