Simply Red to Embark on World Tour

They’ve been around for ages and yet have never really lost their global popularity. Their timeless sound has instant appeal to people and over the years a lot of memories have been created to the sound of their music. Few people today have not heard of the music phenomenon known as Simply Red, and the group hardly needs any introduction.

Simply Red is a British pop band that emerged during the 1980s. Their style has been influences by pop, rock, jazz and soul. While the name Simply Red was initially used to refer mainly to a pop group, over time the name has come to be used for any recordings done by Mick Hucknall, the artist who has always been behind the name from the very beginning. After more than 20 years in the industry it seems fitting that Simply Red has now seen fit to release their definitive collection. The collection is entitled ‘Simply Red: Greatest Hits 25’ and is set to be released on November 17. The double CD compilation features 25 of the band’s best tracks. It will also include a brand new cover of ‘Go Now’, which will be released on November 10, and a limited edition 3-disc with a 25-track DVD will also be available. In conjunction with the release of their new compilation, Simply Red will be embarking on a worldwide Greatest Hits tour, which will start at the beginning of next year.

Their Greatest Hits tour will be previewed at the London 02 Arena on December 3. The event is already sold out – a testament to the immense and ongoing popularity of the group. After London, the group make their way to Australia to play in Perth on February 5th, following which they will be travelling to New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and America. They will then be heading home for two-months of great gigs. During March they’ll be playing in Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Brighton and during April they’ll head back to London before travelling to Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle. They’ll finish up the tour in Nottingham on April 9th. So, if you’re a Simply Red fan, make sure you don’t miss out on this fantastic global tour!
