2011 VMA Nominees
To honor the best music videos that are shown on the MTV channel, an awards ceremony was created, which is simply referred to as the VMAs. The MTV Video Music Awards was established at first to be an alternative to the iconic music awards, the Grammys, acknowledging the artists that draw a younger audience. By the year 2001 the MTV Video Music Awards has risen to be seen as prestigious an event, and the ceremony, which was inaugurated in 1984, is usually broadcast during the month of September. Organizers of the VMAs have recently released their nominations list, which is dominated this year by Katy Perry.
