Bingley Music Live Line-Up
The quiet market town of Bingley in West Yorkshire, England, may not appear to be the type of place to host a rip-roaring three-day music festival. Nonetheless, each year since 2007 musicians and music-lovers have flocked to Myrtle Park in Bingley to enjoy the aptly named Bingley Music Live festival. This year’s event is set to take place from the 31st of August through to the 2nd of September, and the line-up is already looking impressive. Promoted as an intimate event known for its ‘big heart, big sound’, Bingley Music Live attracts more than 15,000 festival-goers, offering an entire weekend of music and fun, with world-class musicians and comedians.
The latest announcement from the organisers of the festival is that Irish-English singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre will be joining the line-up alongside The Idiot B*stard Band, Delilah, StooShe, The Charlatans, Hard-Fi, The Pigeon Detectives, DJ Fresh and Yes Sir Boss. Presented in conjunction with the Musician’s Centre, a new feature of Bingley Music Live will be a stage dedicated to promoting local talent, with bands residing in a BD postcode area being given the opportunity to apply for a slot on the stage.
With a blend of pop, soul, reggae fusion and a touch of hip hop, Maverick Sabre has become known for his funky vocals and guitar playing. He has been on the music scene since his appearance on the album Sense The Terror by Terawrizt and Nu-Centz in 2008, with his big breakthrough being his single Let Me Go released on 25 July 2011 and entering the UK charts at number 16. His debut album, Lonely Are The Brave was released on 6 February this year.
Bingley Music Live offers the perfect opportunity to commune with nature as the summer draws to a close, and to explore the other attractions in the region around Bingley. Whether you are a ‘glamper’ – combining glamour with camping – or a back-to-basics type of person, organisers have hooked up with local establishments to provide extra-special specials. Another first for Bingley Music Live is the VIP package which includes a back-stage festival tour, priority onsite parking, access to the VIP area, use of VIP member’s bar and facilities, VIP goodie bag and the opportunity to view a live performance from the stage viewing balcony.
