Head to Texas for the Suburbia Music Festival
The inaugural Suburbia Music Festival is set to take place at the Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve in Plano, Texas, on May 3 and 4, 2014. Music lovers are invited to experience a variety of genres in spectacular surroundings with performers in the lineup worth traveling to North Texas for. Headline acts include electronic dance wiz David Guetta, as well as Alabama Shakes and rapper J-Cole. Other acts include identical twin duo Tegan and Sara, Slightly Stoopid, Big Gigantic, Violent Femmes, Needtobreathe, Third Eye Blind, Yelawolf, Hoodie Allen, Blue October, Delta Rae, Somo, Reignwolf, The Devil Makes Three, Midlake, Smallpools, American Authors, Echosmith and more.
French house music producer and DJ David Guetta is riding the wave of success right now, playing at high profile events and festivals to packed out audiences. Guetta’s career started as a nightclub DJ in the 1980s and 1990s before releasing his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002 through Gum Productions, which he co-founded. Subsequent albums included Guetta Blaster in 2004 and Pop Life in 2007. But it was his 2009 album One Love that resonated with a wider audience, sending three singles to the #1 slot in the United Kingdom – When Love Takes Over, Getting Over You, and Sexy Chick. His 2011 album, Nothing but the Beat, was also a success, churning out five hit singles – Little Bad Girl, Without You, Where Them Girls At, Turn Me On and Titanium. Fans can expect to hear a selection of their favorite David Guetta hits at Suburbia Music Festival.
Organized by Live Nation, the new festival is aiming to attract the numbers of festival goers that usually attend Austin City Limits – around 220,000. Plano city officials are reportedly giving the festival their full support, no doubt hoping for the economic boost that a festival of this type can bring to the area. So, festival goers can look forward to a whole lot of fun at Suburbia Music Festival.
