Lifetime Achievement Award for Vince Neil

Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards has been many years in the making for Vince Neil. Known as the front man for the widely popular Motley Crue, Vince Neil has been dedicated to the band and to the music industry since 1981. He did previously play with his own band, named Rock Candy, but was discovered in 1980 by former high school friend, Tommy Lee, who founded Motley Crue with Nikki Sixx. Neil and Mick Mars then joined the band, and as they say, the rest is history.

Since they first hit the music industry, Motley Crue has achieved fame and success worldwide, and has sold more than eighty million albums of which twenty-five million were sold in the United States alone. Their first album released in 1981, named Too Fast for Love, did not make a major impact on the industry; but their second album, Shout at the Devil, made a lasting impression, and the band gained a faithful following of fans.

It will be the 7th year that the Vegas Rocks! Magazine host their awards ceremony, with the event taking place at the Elvis Showroom, located in the Las Vegas Hilton, on 21 August 2011. The founder and CEO of Vegas Rocks! Magazine, Sally Steele will be hosting the event and last year the awards were handed out in front of a sold out audience. A number of celebrities have already confirmed their attendance, including Wayne Static, Steven Stevens and John 5.

When asked about Vince Neil receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award this year, Sally Steel commented that no-one deserves the privilege of receiving an award of such stature more than Vince Neil. She was also quoted saying that over the years Neil has lived in Las Vegas, and since she started her magazine seven years ago, his performances on stage and off stage, as well as his assistance in various charitable events, makes him more than worthy of the award. The Motley Crue is also on tour presently, celebrating their thirtieth anniversary in the music industry. Neil released his first solo album in 2010 called Tattoos & Tequila. Steele also revealed that a very special guest will be handing the award over to Neil, but both Neil and fans will have to wait to see who the secret guest is going to be.
