Southern Ground Music and Food Festival

The Zac Brown Band has become well known for their exceptional music, including seven singles that have reached the number one spot on the Billboard country charts. Heading up the band is Zac Brown, who came up with the concept of the fantastic upcoming three-day Southern Ground Music & Food Festival. This event will see brilliant music and delicious food combining forces to offer festival-goers a mind-blowing experience.

The Southern Ground Music & Food Festival will be held from 21 to 23 October 2011 at Blackbaud Stadium, Charleston, U.S.A. Serving up meals will be famous Chef Rusty Hamilin, along with Sean Brock, RJ Cooper and Mike Lata. Tasty delights from local restaurants will be served, in addition to complimentary wine and beer. Of course a major part of this festival is the music, with performances by the Zac Brown Band, My Morning Jacket, Blackberry Smoke, Tigger Hippy, Levi Lowry, Danger Muffin, Blue Dogs, Cornmeal, The Wheeler Boys, Train, Brett Dennen, Sonia Leigh and many others.

Those fortunate enough to have booked a spot in the Front Porch Stage Boxes will find themselves sitting at stage level, just a few feet away from the music artists. Fans seated in these areas will enjoy a mouthwatering four-course gourmet meal and complimentary beverages, as well as a late-night snack menu. All this, while enjoying the thrilling performances of the artists.

Those in general admission will be able to rock along to the bands in the middle of the whole set-up. There will be two stages: Stage A and the Honest Tea Stage. Whether you’re in the boxes or on the floor, this is set to be an unforgettable music experience. A unique aspect of the show will be getting to see the Zac Brown Band performing a full cover set before My Morning Jacket comes on to play.

Zac Brown has been quoted as saying that though this event won’t necessarily become an annual thing, it is a model for how the band wants to tour. As it takes so much time to set-up, it is best to hold the event over a full weekend, and invite other bands to join in. One thing is for sure, fans will want to see more fantastic shows like this in the future.
