Kenny Chesney Has Most Country Music Award Nominations

After having already being crowned country music’s “entertainer of the year”, it comes as no surprise that Kenny Chesney has received more than one nomination for the upcoming Country Music Association Awards.

Kenny Chesney was recently nominated for as many as seven Country Music Association Awards – more than any other artist nominated in the various categories. Having previously won the “entertainer of the year” category for the past two years, he is in the running for the award yet again this year. Other artists nominated for the prize include Brad Paisley, George Strait, Sugarland and Keith Urban. He has also been nominated for best male vocalist, best single of the year, best album of the year, musical event of the year and music video of the year, with more than one item contending for the prize in some categories.

Chesney is thrilled with the nominations. Commenting on the decision to select him for so many categories, he said: “Morning like this is where you know the music that means so much to you means something to other people too.” However Chesney is not the only person receiving multiple nominations at this year’s award ceremony – he is simply the person with the most nominations. George Strait and Sugarland have received five nominations each. Other people to have been nominated for awards include: Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride.

The Country Music Award (CMA) ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 12 and will be broadcast live on the ABC television network.
