Monterey Jazz Festival – Musicians

Few things in life are constant; taxes, mom’s home cooking and the Monterey Jazz Festival. Now in its 49th year, the festival is the second oldest jazz gathering in the world. And just like clockwork some of the greatest musicians in jazz and blues gather every September for three days to play some of the most amazing sounds the ears have heard.

Located in the fairgrounds of Monterey California the setting could not be more perfect. The town was made legendary by the writer John Steinbeck and is now home to some of today’s most legendary jazz musicians for three days every year. With the likes of McCoy Tyner, Dianne Reeves and Dave Brubeck playing annually you will truly witness the history of music as it should be played, outdoors with friends in one of the most beautiful areas of the world.

The Monterey peninsula has some of the world’s best seafood. Fish is brought in daily from the many boats that call Monterey home. And if you thought the food and music were enough, the area boasts an amazing aquarium and some of California’s finest hotels.

Remember to book your travel plans early and reserve your tickets because after 49 years the word is out on this amazing festival and a music event not to be missed. And as you stroll the fairgrounds with calm chowder served in a bread bowl and a chilled glass of wine, just remember it is okay to bounce to the beat of the Monterey Jazz Festival.
