Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Extend Tour

The Australian band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was established in 1984 by Nick Cave and Mick Harvey. Joining them in the original line-up was Barry Adamson, Blixa Bargeld and Hugo Race. Now, almost twenty-four years later, the band, even though some members have changed, is enjoying a successful tour to promote their latest album, Dig Lazarus Dig. The tour has gone so well that the band has announced additional tour dates for fans to look forward to.

The original band recorded the album called From Her to Eternity, which was released the same year the band was established. Over the years, the band’s style and members have gone through changes, but Nick Cave and Mick Harvey are the only two members that remain from the original group. They have enjoyed success all over the world, and continue to thrill their fans with each new album.

In total Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have released fourteen albums which are: From Her to Eternity (1984), The Firstborn Is Dead (1985), Kicking Against The Pricks (1986), Your Funeral….My Trial (1986), Tender Prey (1988), The Good Son (1990), Henry’s Room (1992), Let Love In (1994), Murder Ballads (1996), The Boatman’s Call (1997), No More Shall We Part (2001), Nocturama (2003), Abattoir Blues / They Lyre of Orpheus (2004) and their most recent album and tour, Dig Lazarus Dig! The band has also won four ARIA Awards, with the 1996 Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Best Pop Release for “Where the Wild Roses Grow”, in 2001 for the song “The Ship Song” and in the same year for Best Male Artist. In 2007, Nick Cave was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, with honorary inductees, Mick Harvey, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Conway Savage.

The band consists of Nick Cave on lead vocals, percussion, string arrangements, harmonica, organ, electric guitar and piano; Mick Harvey on acoustic and electric guitar, percussion, vocals, drums, piano, loops and organ; Thomas Wydler on vocals, drums and percussion; Martyn Casey on vocals and bass; Conway Savage on vocals, piano and organ; Warren Ellis on flute, vocals, mandolin, violin, viola, lute, percussion, loops, piano, accordion, fender mandocaster and tenor guitar; Jim Sclavunos on organ, percussion, vocals, melodic and drums; and James Johnston on acoustic guitar, organ, vocals, and electric guitar. Together, they are a magnificently talented group of musicians.

Because of the sold out success they have had with their Dig Lazarus Dig Tour in May, the band has released additional performance dates for November. They will be performing in Brighton on the 23rd, Manchester on the 25th, Edinburgh on the 26th, Sheffield on the 27th and can be seen in London on the 29th and 30th. Fans will also be able to look forward to the release of a digitally re-mastered double disk collectors’ album, featuring their first four albums, set for release at the end of the year. Die-hard Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds enthusiasts who missed out on the opportunity to see their favorite band in action, should get to ticket sales offices immediately, as tickets went on sale on the 15th of August 2008.
