P.O.D. Tour UK Next Year February

Fans of P.O.D. will be excited to learn that they plan to be heading to the UK as part of an extensive 31-date European tour early next year. The band will be sharing stage time with Filter and guitarist Marcos Curiel will be rejoining the band after a four year absence, making the experience even more memorable.

For those who do not know much about the band, the acronym ‘P.O.D.’ stands for “Payable On Death”. The band is a Metal/Nu Metal band with Christian Alternative undertones, hailing from San Diego, California. They were initially formed as early as 1992 and their original (and current) line up consists of Wuv Bernardo (drums), Marcos Curiel (guitar), Traa Daniels (Bass) and Sonny Sandoval (vocals). P.O.D. have worked hard to get where they are and they first got a taste of mainstream success in 2000 when their third studio album, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, was certified Platinum by the RIAA. They followed this initial success with their next album, Satellite, which enjoyed two hit singles – namely ‘Alive’ and ‘Youth of the Nation’ and which managed to go triple platinum. Today the band has a rather impressive seven studio albums under their belt, which goes hand in hand with the more than seven million album sales they have enjoyed. They are known for their multi-platinum success and, while it seems they were quiet for a while, it appears that they’re now back and ready to reclaim their place at the top of the music industry.

P.O.D.’s 2009 UK tour, which will begin in February, marks the first time they’ve toured in five years. The tour coincides with the release of their new album, ‘When Angels & Serpents Dance’ and tickets are already on sale and moving fast. To add to the special nature of their tour, P.O.D. will be digitally releasing a new download single entitled “Addicted”. The single will also feature the track “Ridin’ With You” which will be exclusive to that particular single. The UK tour will kick off at Birmingham Academy on Wednesday, February 11, before continuing on to Oxford Academy (Feb 13), Manchester Academy (Feb 14), Glasgow Garage (Feb 15), The Rescue Rooms in Nottingham (Feb 17) and Astoria in London (Feb 18).
