Sunset Strip Music Festival 2010

From the 26th of August 2010, Sunset Boulevard came alive with music and festivity as the annual Sunset Strip Music Festival kicked off. This is the third time this festival is being hosted, and each year has proved to be a greater success than the last. Marquee venues located along this famous Strip got together to create the Sunset Strip Music Festival in 2008, and with its overwhelming success, Sunset Boulevard was closed down for the 2009 festival as it has been again this year.

Transforming the west of Los Angeles into a major music hub has been the main goal of the music community living in West Hollywood and the festival is a form of promoting and developing the industry here. Roxy owner, Nic Adler, commented on the progress made to date by saying: “You see scenes on the eastside and in Venice, and now I look at the opportunities here and see a great place to find yourself in L.A.’s music culture.” The Sunset Strip Music Festival also brings attention and recognition to the music venues located in the area, making the locals aware of the great music diversity available here. What makes this street festival even more sensational is the celebrity line-up of performers who are taking part in the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to a large variety of artists who will be filling the air with music. Included in the line-up are bands such as Big B, The Smashing Pumpkins, Kid Cudi, Slash (featuring Fergie and Myles Kennedy), Semi Precious Weapons, Common, Neon Trees, Steel Panther and Travie McCoy. There are approximately fifty bands performing at the festival at the different stages set up at the festival venue. The six venues for the Sunset Strip Music Festival are Cat Club, East Outdoor Stage, West Outdoor Stage, Whisky A Go-Go, Key Club and the Roxy Theatre. Tickets to the event are on sale online, and guests will be able to plan their music adventure using the festival schedule, thus ensuring that they do not miss their favorite bands perform. It is also the perfect opportunity to explore the Strip’s music world and opportunities.
