Live Dates for James Announced

When the band James announced their “We Are Sound” tour for December, most tickets sold out so quickly, that the band decided to add two more performance dates so as to not disappoint their thousands of fans. After their December tour, the band will be heading to the United States, where venues have been struggling to keep up with ticket demands, leading to one additional date already being added. Indeed, their fame has not declined even after a few years break from the industry. Their return to the music world and the thousands of James’ enthusiasts has given them a new lease on performing and they are delivering the same quality music everyone has become accustomed to.

Formed in 1981, in Manchester, the band James fought hard to make it in the music industry. In the nineties they took charge of their destiny, releasing hit singles such as “Laid” and “Sit Down”, which cemented them as leading artists. The band has released ten albums during their career: Stutter in 1986, Strip-Mine in 1988, Gold Mother in 1990, Seven was released in 1992 followed by Laid in 1993 and Wah Wah in 1994. Whiplash hit the shelves in 1997, with Millionaires in 1999 and Pleased to Meet You in 2001, after which fans had to wait seven years for Hey Ma. The break in releases was due to lead singer, Tim Booth leaving the band in 2001 to pursue other projects. But in 2007, the band announced that Booth would rejoin the group and that they were working on a new album.

Having been nominated for the Vodafone Live Music Awards 2008 Best Live Return, they are out to show the public that they truly deserve the award. They will be at Brighton Dome on the 9th of December, at Leeds Carling Academy on the 11th, Glasgow SECC on the 12th and at Birmingham NIA on the 13th. Fans will be spoilt with two performance dates at the Brixton Carling Academy (15 and 16 December) and at Manchester Central (19 and 20 December). James most definitely is a band that has stood the test of time and has managed to do what few other bands have done, make a successful and roaring comeback on the music scene.
