2010 Amsterdam Dance Festival

The Amsterdam Dance Festival was founded in the year 1996, and has grown into a global phenomenon that is attended by more than ninety thousand visitors each year. It has developed from three clubs to over forty, and from a mere thirty DJs entertaining audiences to more than seven hundred. Artists and musicians from all over the world converge at the Amsterdam Dance Festival, which not only offers exciting live performances but also conferences that discuss the future of music and other vital topics within the music industry.

The fifteenth Amsterdam Dance Festival will be hosted from 20 to 23 October 2010, and tickets to the conferences at the festival have already been sold out. Forty-four venues have been confirmed for the festival, where musicians will create an atmosphere of excitement and celebration through their music. Just recently the list of performers was released by the festival organizers. Fans can look forward to artists such as Kelis, Aeroplane, Paul van Dyk, Derrick May, Tim Green, Dixon, Don Diablo, The Avent Life, Marco Effe, Joost van Bellen, Sasha, Dave Clarke, Armin van Buuren, Heiko Laux, Born To Funk, Jamie Lewis, Golden Bug, Jesse Rose, Tom Trago, Jeff Mills, Lorenz Rhode Live, Gomes, Karotte, Boris Werner, Ida Engberg, Riva Star and Joris Voorn, to name but a few. Richard Zijlma, one of the organizers of the Amsterdam Dance Festival, commented on the success enjoyed by the festival, saying: “In the past fifteen years ADE has proved that the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular offers the best in electronic music. We are proud on the international involvement of the scene and also the fact that this is possible in a city like Amsterdam. Now we have more stages this year we can ensure even a better mix of emerging talents and established names. One thing is certain: Amsterdam will be the epicenter of dance music for four days long.”

This year’s festival is gearing up to be an event that is not to be missed, and music enthusiasts are advised to get their tickets to the Amsterdam Dance Festival as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
