Lagerado Music Festival in South Florida
The Langerado Music Festival was founded six years ago by Ethan Schwartz and Mark Brown. It was their vision to bring a music festival to South Florida that would give music enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy live performances by some of the best bands and musicians. Support and attendance at the festival has grown so dramatically over the years that it has been forced to expand its genre and find venues large enough to accommodate the thousands of festival goers who attend each year.
This year, the Langerado Music Festival will be held at the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in the South Florida Everglades between the 6th and the 9th of March 2008. Festival goers are advised that the only entry onto the reserve, where they will be allowed entry, is Alligator Alley. The Seminole Tribe of Florida will take curious visitors on guided excursions of the reservation and all in attendance are kindly requested to respect the hosts and their land.
Camping grounds will be available from Thursday morning until Monday morning and children are welcome to join their parents for the weekend. Organizers have ensured that there will be security measures to ensure the safety of children, such as the Tag-A-Kid tent where wristbands are issued to children in case of separation or emergencies. Activities and fun events have been set up in the Kids Area. Toilets, showers, drinking water, food and beverage vendors, and arts and crafts stores will be available. It is also recommended that those attending the festival either browse the Langerado website or contact them in regard to permitted and non-permitted items.
After the adults have sorted out their sleeping arrangements and ensured that their children are entertained with their events, they will be able to look forward a weekend of music pleasure and celebration. Bands and artists that will be attending the 2008 Langerado Music Festival include R.E.M, The Roots, Beastie Boys, Ben Folds, G.Love & Special Sause, The Disco Biscuits, Keller Williams, The National, The Mickey Hart Band, The Wailers, Antibalas, Dark Star Orchestra, Blind Melon, Sam Bush, Martin Sexton, The New Deal, The Avett Brothers, Pelican, Don Deacon, American Babies, Trevor Hall, Steel Train, Josh Ritter, The Postmarks and many more.
The Langerado Music Festival is geared up to be one of the biggest musical events of the year in South Florida, with top bands, activities, celebration and relaxation. It is a gathering of talent that is appreciated by all and attended by thousands.
